It took both story lines, and really melded them together without making one more important or central than another. The characters are well developed, although I thought some of the black characters were not as well developed. The problems are interesting and provocative real-world "riddles", ie problems non-mathematicians can actually relate to (as opposed to strictly theoretical pure mathematics problems). Monique is a good example of how much a human-being can suffer throughout his/her life due to the indifferent behaviour of other people. Will the exercises help? As much as any decent training program, I suppose. Fortunately I spent only around $25.00 for the book. With danger in every corner they turn, they are battered by the storms of the past. I think Bollas has done something similar in his study of the schizophrenic. An excellent book.. That was a lifesaver.
So, if you are in the same boat as me, this purchase would probably be the best decision of your life. Although
