Betty Heisler was born in Cuba. Her mother, who was born in Lithuania, grew up on the island, and her father emigrated there from Poland shortly before WW II. She majored in Advertising at The University of Havana and worked as a copywriter at the Advertising Department of El Encanto, Havana's premier department store before it was bombed by an anti-Castro group in the early 60's. After Castro's communist regime took over Cuba, she fled with her family to Miami, where she graduated from the School of Journalism. She worked for the Spanish edition of The Miami Herald, Vanidades and the Spanish editions of Goodhousekeeping and Harper's Bazaar, before starting Donde Magazine, the first Spanish-language city magazine that was published in Miami.
She subsequently published Entre Nosotros, a Spanish language Jewish lifestyle magazine that circulated in the U.S and South America. The Last Minyan in Havana is the distillation of her memoriesof growing up Jewish in Cuba and of her subsequ

At times the examples referred to files at Dropbox. The pages are beautiful and the pictures are fascinating! I was amazed that the author was able to get introductions to each chapter/Presidency from the former First Ladies and family members. Reverse mortgages have had significant evolution in the last 3 years, with important changes even in 2015, and this book brings current information. You will definitely look at this crippling illness differently after you read about this author's intimately personal struggle.. Another interesting thing was John Buridan's view of possibility of other worlds existing if God so willed it. Repetitious and at times out of sync making it difficult to follow, but, not impossible. But was she real?
I wanted to explore the reality of Celia's existence, and all the questions raised by a sentient android. It showed how much all these characters were connected before they even met. This is a very gritty, very creepy, extremely insightful book.
